A late Victor Osimhen strike secured a famous win for Napoli over rivals Roma, while equalling the Azzurri\u2019s best-ever winning streak of 11 matches across all competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chasing their first victory over Napoli<\/a> since November 2019, it looked as if Roma\u2019s<\/a> Derby del Sole woes would worsen just before the break when referee Massimiliano Irrati pointed to the spot for a foul from goalkeeper Rui Patricio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A swipe of the Roma shot-stopper\u2019s right hand had forced Napoli\u2019s Tanguy Ndombele to the floor, but after a VAR review, the penalty was rightly overturned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aggrieved by Irrati\u2019s change of heart on the penalty decision, Luciano Spalletti\u2019s side continued to probe throughout the second half, before eventually finding the opener nine minutes from time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having led the line superbly for the visitors all evening, Osimhen found the net with a rifled first-time strike into the top left corner, leaving goalkeeper Patricio with little chance of making a save.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only once since 1930 have Napoli ever won 11 consecutive fixtures across all competitions, with the late Osimhen goal ensuring this dazzling Azurri run continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roma, who missed the chance to win four Serie A games in a row for the first time under Jose Mourinho, remain fifth in the table, an ever-growing seven points behind leaders Napoli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
